To contact us:

We will e-mail your new patient paperwork ahead, which includes a new patient profile, lifestyle, nutritional and health history.  Please complete it at home when you are not in a hurry, as we base many of our decisions in planning your program, on the answers you give. If unable, please arrive 30 minutes before your appointment to complete.

An EKG and lab work is obtained on each new patient at your first visit.  This includes a comprehensive metabolic profile, which assesses vital organ function, electrolytes, a complete blood count to check your iron levels, a lipid profile to check your cholesterol and triglyceride levels, and a thyroid function test.  If you have had these same tests done in the past 60 days, you may FAX or bring a copy of the reports so that they will not need to be repeated.  We MUST have a copy in your chart at your first visit or we will need to go ahead and perform these tests upon your first visit.

Please bring the bottles of all current prescriptions with you along with your pharmacy phone number so we can keep accurate records.

We will then perform an EKG, draw your lab, check your blood pressure, obtain your weight, and perform a body composition analysis.

After the testing, the doctor or nurse practitioner will complete a medical history and examination.  He or she will then work with you to customize a weight loss and management program based upon your lifestyle, food preferences, and goals.

Your program may include prescription appetite suppressants, fat blockers, or other appropriate prescription medications.  Prescription appetite suppressants can be used to reduce hunger and appetite, reduce thoughts of food (aversion), and make you feel fuller on smaller portions (satiety). They can increase your ability to adhere to your plan. We do not prescribe amphetamines.  We use only FDA approved prescription medications and prescribe according to FDA guidelines and guidelines set forth by the American Society of Bariatric Physicians.

IHP also offers diet injections, which many of our patients find beneficial.  The injections contain adenosine monophosphate (AMP), B-6, and long acting B-12.  They assist the body in fat metabolism and lead to faster weight loss.  If you decide to have the injections, you'll need one each week to maintain a therapeutic level in your system.  The price is $25 for 1cc or $35 for 2cc per injection.  You do not need an appointment for an injection and may "walk in" any time during our business hours.

Your initial office visit will be approximately 1.5- 2 hours and the total cost is $200.  Your first follow-up visit will be in two weeks and monthly thereafter.  These visits usually are 15-30 minutes in length.  Follow-up visits are $50.  If you bring a copy of your recent EKG or complete lab work, we will discount the initial visit $30.  Complete payment is due at the time the services are rendered.  We will provide you with a medically coded receipt for our services, which you may choose to submit to your insurance company.  Some insurance programs will pay for all of or part of these services, some won't.  You can also submit these to your medical healthcare/flex accounts at work for reimbursement.

PLEASE NOTE: We request that you do NOT bring children to your initial consultation as there is quite a bit of information covered that requires your undivided attention.  Your success in this program depends on your ability to understand and implement the concepts presented.  We also draw lab work, which can be traumatic for small children to witness.  We do not have the staff available to baby-sit your children during your visit.
